Home Made Ice Cream Express

If you've driven through Home, PA in the past 16 years then you've probably seen the Home Made Restaurant, Home Made Ice Cream Shoppe, and a mini golf course, but what you may not have seen is the new Home Made Ice Cream Express truck!  With the familiar tunes of ice cream trucks from the past, this truck delivers home made ice cream made in Home, PA and will now be a vendor at the farmers' market this year!  Owners, Cindi and Damian Kordell, just recently sold their Home Made Restaurant of 16 years and decided to focus on ice cream.
Cindi and Damian Kordell
Cindi and Damian decided after 16 years in the restaurant business, it was time to slow things down and focus just specifically on the ice cream side of the business.  In the restaurant business it was a basically a 24/7 job, but with the ice cream business they will at least now have winter as a time off.  Cindi said, "Our focus now is an ice cream shop on wheels." Their ice cream is homemade using local dairies Turners and Ritchies.  Other than ice cream, they also have a specialty item, called Zeekies, named after Cindi and Damian's grandson Zeek, which is a huge home made chocolate chip cookie filled with their home made ice cream.  The truck also serves shakes, sundaes, banana splits, floats, cones, pints, quarts, and Zeekies.  Normally you will see Cindi driving the truck around while Damian runs the ice cream shoppe in Home, PA.
If you don't catch the truck at the market this year you'll soon be able to book the truck for events like birthday parties and private picnics. You can also find the truck at the May Mart, Concerts in the Park (Memorial Park on Sundays), the July 4th Celebration at Mack Park, and some local schools are starting to book the truck for events. Eventually there will be a regular schedule that will list which neighborhoods the truck will be driving through each week.  When speaking with Cindi it was obvious to feel her excitement for the next big endeavor in her and her husband's life, and the addition of a home made ice cream truck at the market this season will be a special treat for all that come.

Ice cream flavors will change weekly, come to the market Wednesdays 3:30-5:30 to see the truck!

Find out more and keep track of the truck on their Facebook page!!
